But there is a method (in fact, various) to make a grunge effect in Illustrator and keep you design in the original vector format you make it.
Besides PNG and Animated PNG, it also supports GIF, animated GIF, JPEG, PDF, BMP, TIFF, TGA, and RAS formats as output. It merges all imported APNG files into a single one. So, in that way, you can create an animated PNG file by using different images. Conclusion: It is a nice free image converter which also lets you edit and convert APNG files.
